Ettiene Delarche 2024 Pernand Vergelesse Blanc Les Combottes
$47.99 bottle / $269.94($44.49) six-pack
The beguiling and undeniable gout de terroir of great Pernand-Vergelesse is on full display in the Delarche Les Combottes (100% Chardonnay). The Les Combottes vineyard sits high up on the hill just slightly around the bend from the famous grand cru of Corton. This blessed site typically displays highly aromatic, mineral-driven wines and Delarche’s version is a perfect example of this chiseled style. Aromas of wet stones intermingle with scents of lime zest, ginger, and green apple. The linear palate has a quiet presence that expands with a little time in the glass with flavors that reprise the aromatics. The mid-palate is intense while a strong core tangy and salty minerals with just enough fleshy fruit to compel the stony finish. The vintage shines through with a zippy energy that makes this wine an outstanding candidate for those delicious shellfish dishes.

Ettiene Delarche 2024 Pernand-Vergelesses Blanc, 1er Cru Sous Fretille
$74.99 bottle / $419.94($69.99) six-pack
Promoted to Premier Cru 20 years ago Sous Fretille is South facing, on a steep slope above the village consisting of shallow clay-limestone soil, rich in small stones and a marly-limestone subsoil similar to Corton-Charlemagne. Yet, saying it's like a baby Corton would be an injustice because it has it's own unique and compelling characteristics. Aromatics are crystalline and intense consisting of white flower, lemon zest, knotted cream, and crushed rocks. The palate offers an incredibly focused lens into the terroir with impeccable balance and length. If I had to pick my favorite, this wine would be it. The only tragedy is that very little was made in 2024. Extremely Limited

Ettiene Delarche 2024 Chassagne-Montrachet Blanc, 1er Cru Clos-St.-Jean
$128.99 bottle / $725.94($120.99) six-pack
What an cool juxtaposition compared to the Pernand-Vergelesses Chardonnays. Etienne does a cheeky trade for grapes with a good friend from his southern neighbor and treats the wine the same as his other Chardonnays. Chassagne-Montrachet is on full display here with fresh hits of briny lemon peel, yellow plums, and ginger spice. The palate has more weight and a slick oily texture that's eventually pierced by crisp acidity. Lots of verve over the course of the overtly refreshing finish. This wine feels like it has loads of pedigree and should reward your patience in the cellar for the next 10 years. Very Limited

Etienne Delarche 2024 Corton-Charlemagne, Grand Cru White Burgundy
$168.99 bottle / $959.94($159.99) six-pack
Last year we offered the 2023 and couldn't fill demand so if you're interested, don't hesitate. Delarche’s Corton-Charlemagne vines are located high up the Pernand side of the Corton hill. These old, 50+ year old, vines produce one powerful Grand Cru White Burgundy that not only offers volume, richness, and suburb balance and great texture, but also an incredible tension and elegant structure that almost becomes hypnotizing if you let your mind relax. This wine is so coiled now but it's clearly a classic that, will only gain in complexity. Very Very limited.

Ettiene Delarche 2024 Corton Les Renards Grand Cru
$134.99 bottle / $767.94($127.99) six-pack
Etienne Delarche’s father planted these now 50-year old vines himself near the summit of the noble hill of Corton. This wine exists in the very narrow band that makes Pinot Noir so compelling. Expressive, earthy, and authentic, this Corton Les Renardes feels like a throwback from years gone by. Plenty of earth and spice co-mingle with Bing cherries, cherry pits, and orange citrus. Clearly a delicatly extracted and, again, the 2024 vintage on full display, as the palate unfurls with crunchy acid and tight anchoring tannins. Quite ethereal and transparent. Have to say it - crazy value for Grand Cru. Very limited

Domaine Leflaive 2013 Pouilly Fuissé
$139.99 bottle / $779.94($129.99) six-pack (The current vintage, 2024, is selling for $164 and up.)
It’s drinking really well now with the tension of the best 2013s. Should continue to drink great for another five years.

Domaine Laroche 2022 Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons, Vieilles Vignes
$68.99 bottle / $389.94($64.99) six-pack
This is my favorite Chablis of the ’22 vintage. It had so much more terroir action and better balance than most ’22 Chablis.
"The 2022 Chablis Les Vaillons Vieilles Vignes 1er Cru, from 65-year-old vines, has a perfumed bouquet with red apple, yellow plum and melted candle wax scents, a little oilier than its peers but quite intriguing. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, fine concentration and ample focus, that citric thread of acidity upholding tension. Very fine.” - 92 Vinous - It’s better than that!
