Bedrock Wine Co. 2024 Nervo Ranch Heritage Red, Alexander Valley
$49.99 bottle / $275.94($45.99) six-pack
Cellar selection. This wine is a real head-turner! The Negrette component of the Nervo really stands out. The 1896-planted vines at Nervo Ranch produced one of the most complete wines of the lovely 2024 vintage. Farmed organically using no-till practices on steep, decomposed shale slopes just south of Geyserville, the Nervo Heritage is a wine of both perfume and power. A complex field blend based on Zinfandel, the second-most prevalent here is the peppery, violet-scented Negrette, followed by Grenache, Trousseau Noir, Alicante Bouschet, and Petite Sirah. Deeply colored, the wine shows notes of blackberry, cracked black pepper, and a touch of complexing herbs—almost like a drop of Peychaud’s bitters. Among Nervo vintages, this one is notably more approachable in its youth. "The 2024 Nervo Ranch Heritage Wine is an incredibly distinctive wine, largely because of the complexity of a field blend that includes 17 varieties. The lifted, articulate bouquet is immediately alluring. Brilliant red-toned fruit, chalk, mint and white pepper are beautifully sculpted. A spine of persistent yet refined tannins shapes the mid-palate and finish. Gorgeous. Drink 2028-2044.” - 95 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Bedrock Wine Co. 2024 Dolinsek Ranch Heritage Red Blend, Sonoma Valley
$49.99 bottle / $275.94($45.99) six-pack
Planted in 1910, Dolinsek is a field blend based around Zinfandel with Alicante, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Golden Chasselas/Palomino and even a small amount of Barbera and Black Muscat.
Both the nose and palate reminded me of old-school Russian River Zin from the ‘90s from Williams Selyem. Beautifully defined blueberry and blackberry fruit laced with anise and even a note reminiscent of lavender oil. Balancing the beautiful fruit, the wine also possesses vibrant acidity and sneaky, well-integrated tannins will allow it to age for up to 10 years. "The 2024 Dolinsek Ranch Heritage Wine is a very pretty, delicate wine. Soft, refined tannins and silky fruit grace this understated, layered Zinfandel-based field blend. The softer, more understated side of the Russian River comes through, largely a reflection of sandy soils. Intense, deeply pitched aromatics broaden the finish. Drink through 2044” - 95 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Bedrock Wine Co. 2024 Bedrock Vineyard Heritage Red, Sonoma Valley
$49.99 bottle / $275.94($45.99) six-pack
Cellar selection. This wine has so much potential, but will require more time than the others in this offer before it really hits peaks. The balance here is fantastic and I love the way that the Mourvèdre (Mataro) stands out. “We feel the 2024 vintage is one of the strongest wines of the year. Yields were low in 2024, so there’s less to go around, but the core of the wine remains rooted, as always, in Blocks 39 and 42 located on the “crown” of the vineyard along with ancient Carignan and Mourvèdre. The final blend is approximately 62% Zinfandel, 19% Carignan, 10% Mourvèdre, and 8% from the other 20+ varieties. Deeply scented of dark red fruits, anise and citrus this is both powerful and focused on the palate and will age gracefully for two decades or more.” - winery notes - 94 Antonio Galloni

Bedrock Wine Co. 2023 Old Hill Ranch Heritage Red, Sonoma Valley
$59.99 bottle / $329.94($54.99) six-pack
When we visited the Bedrock winery in February, we tasted over a dozen wines with the highly personable Chris Cottrell. This was my favorite of all of the 2023s we tried. Longtime fans of California wines know that Old Hill Ranch is one of the most iconic vineyards in the state. The 2023 Old Hill is compelling wine with a well of complexity. Delicious now, it will only improve over the next 10+ years. “The 2023 Old Hill Heritage Wine soars from the glass with lifted aromatics. Bright red-toned fruit, spice, mint, blood orange, cinnamon, cedar and new leather are all beautifully sculpted in this nuanced, captivating red blend. This field blend of more than varieties is so aromatically intense. Painstakingly tended to by the Bucklin family, Old Hill is quite simply one of the most pedigreed vineyard sites in the United States. What a gorgeous wine this is. Drinking Window 2027-2038.” - 96 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Bedrock Wine Co. 2023 Monte Rosso Zinfandel, Sonoma Valley
$65.99 bottle / $359.94($59.99) six-pack
On our trip to visit Chris and the winery in February, Chris surprised us at the end of the vineyard tour and tasting with a bottle of 2012 Bedrock Monte Rosso Zinfandel - it was stunning. That day we visited and tasted at Mayacamas and Dominus too. The 2012 Monte Rosso was the wine of the day. The idea that California red wines could still evolve so spectacularly seemed possible after tasting through the other Bedrock wines, but this wine at 14 years old proved it. I have no doubt that 2023 will be at least as good, if not better. Along with the Old Hill Ranch above, Monte Rosso is one of the best, and most famous vineyards in California - and this wine demonstrates why. An American wine treasure.
