From an old vine plot in the venerable Hyland vineyard, this Walter Scott bottling sets a new standard for Hyland Chardonnay. Texturally very pleasing, with dry extract giving body and structural feel which segues to beautiful fleshy Chardonnay fruit. There is real density and weight to the palate without any sense of “heaviness.” The tension between the fruit and acidity is electrifying.
