Grower Champagne alert: André Robert first flashed onto our radar in 2022. Since then, it’s become our best selling Blanc de Blanc producer with customers regularly “re-upping.” We tried this a couple of weeks ago and bought every bottle available in the state and ordered more from the importer. Being located in Les Mesnil sur Oger in the heart of the Cote de Blancs and thus being a Blanc de Blanc specialist, they also make this heady, juicy and vibrant blend of Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir from the clay-rich soils of the Marne Valley, near the village of Montigny. I first had the Les Vignes de Montigny in April while in Champagne visiting a friend. Out of the fifty-some Champagnes we tried on that visit, I’m pretty sure that this was the least expensive, yet was very exciting and just plain super delicious! Enjoy this rich, textured, hedonistic Champagne with gusto now and over the next seven years either on its own or with a wide range of dishes.
