Lisini 2021 Brunello di Montalcino DOCG

The wave of exquisite 2021 Brunellos continues. To be clear, 2021 is not an overripe, high-sugar, high-alcohol "100-Point Vintage of the Century," but rather a year for Brunello connoisseurs, collectors, and true believers. Lisini's Brunello is and always has been 100% Sangiovese fermented in glass lined concrete and raised for 42 months in 50 hectolitre casks.  Start by appreciating the beautiful garnet, crimson core that hints at the wine's concentration and depth. Aromatics erupt with a torrent of black cherry, blackberry, tobacco leaf, dried violets, and forest floor, followed by wild herbs, iron-rich clay, and crushed stone. The palate has impressive depth and power but is coursing with vibrant energy and a savory, lingering finish. This is one to watch over the next 10,15, or even twenty years.
