By this point, hopefully readers know how much we love the dry Fermints of Tokaji as we champion them year after year. We offered a whole slew of amazing Hungarian wines in February. Now, we have the great 2021 (epic vintage) Kiralyudvar Furmint Sec - not only really, really, really good, but also the best value we’ve seen in Hungarian wines to date. Here are my tasting notes: Super aromatic with stone fruits and minerals galore. So delicious! Tons of minerality and perfect apricot fruit (why can’t real apricot be this good?) and a really long, intense finish. This wine really clamps down on the palate and won’t let go! Drink now through 2033.
