Geek Alert: The Bourdy family has been in the wine growing/making business since 1475. Their estate is southeast of the Cote D'Or in the small town of Arlay in the Jura region. They grow Trousseau Poulsard, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Savagnin and make some of the most interesting and age-worthy wines in the world at almost give-away prices. These are wines with a strong gout de terroir. The "Rouge" is a blend of 1/3 each Pinot Noir, Poulsard (Ploussard) & Trousseau co-fermented. Bourdy's 2022 Rouge is very aromatic with the Poulsard taking center stage. The elegant palate is nicely concentrated and loaded with pretty strawberry fruit and minerals. Enjoy this tangy, soil-driven wine now and over the next two decades with all manner of poultry, pork, mushroom casseroles and all kinds of vegetable dishes.
