This is the fifth time we've been able to feature this beguiling wine which is a testament to its consistency and quality. From the central Italian region of Umbria, Iacopo Paolucci is focused on cultivating organically grown indigenous grape varieties like Trebbiano Spoletino, a variety related to, but much more noble than other varieties under the Trebbiano umbrella. With four days of skin contact (this is not an orange wine!), the Il Ponziano is a golden straw color and offers enticing aromas of wildflowers, peach skin, and dried apricots. The succulent medium-bodied palate is complex with flavors of ripe nectarine, orange zest, apricots, and a hint of sage with a vein of minerality running through the wine. Fantastic on its own, it’s also extremely versatile at the table. Enjoy now and often, or cellar through 2028.
