This special bottling is a barrel selection from two distinct vineyards, both planted with ungrafted or "own-rooted" Pinot Noir vines. Due to the root louse, phylloxera, such plantings have become increasingly rare. Marine sedimentary and volcanic soils are like two reverberating and harmonic voices; fully complimentary. Bing cherry, Cara Cara orange, graphite, and saline notes lead to a fully intertwined palate that seems to vibrate throughout the structured and long finish. Super impressive and classy, it's obvious that there is so much potential that will continue to gain in complexity over the next decade.
