The Lone Feather vineyard is planted on rocky basalt soils on the edge of the McMinnville AVA where cool coastal breezes and rocky volcanic soil helped to focus the deep flavors of these own rooted Pommard and Wädenswil clone vines planted in the 1980's. The complex nose offers hints of blue fruits, earth, dried rose petal and a touch of spearamint. The palate is full-bodied as far as Pinot Noir goes, and bursting with pristine blueberry and dark cherry fruit while a touch of earth adds complexity. Velvety tannins ensure this wine will age gracefully for ten plus years. Really nice now, but so much potential.
