François Mikulski 2023 Monthélie, les Toissières

The les Toissières vineyard is separated by one vineyard and on the same hillside aspect as the famous Volnay - Clos des Chenes.  While there are certainly subtle differences between the two, the not so subtle difference is the price as les Toissières cost about half as much as the much better known Clos des Chenes.  Mikulski’s 2023 les Toissières is an intriguing wine with 2023’s fruit purity, silky texture, but with a stronger soil signature - and isn’t that what real Burg hounds are after?  Again, a lot of wine for the money.
