Do we lead with what a great deal this is or how good it is?  Let’s go with how good.  Macon-Fuissé is one of the very best sub-regions in the Macon in southern Burgundy.  100% Chardonnay, the 2023 Larochette La Grande Bruyere is already singing. In the glass, the wine shimmers a brilliant gold color with wonderful aromas of Asian pear, Honeycrisp apple and bergamot. The palate is all about its mineral terroir expression.  The interplay of ripe fruit concentration and stoney minerality effortlessly leads into a long finish, displaying depth, persistence and refreshment. While it's not that hard to find White Burgundy of this quality and style, it is unusual to find it for less than $50 a bottle. Enjoy this fantastic value over the next two to three years with just about anything that doesn't/didn't get around on hooves - well pork roasts and chops work just fine!
