Domaine du Collier Saumur Rouge La Ripaille is a masterful take on Cabernet Franc. It has a booming resonance yet remains incredibly precise and finely detailed and needless to say that fans of the wines of the Clos Rougeard will find lots to like. In addition to its family resemblance to Clos Rougeard, aspects of the wine resemble the best Cabernet Franc-based Bordeaux like Cheval Blanc with its earthy nature and firm but fine-grained tannins. Above all, there is a refinement to this wine that escapes most other Cabernet Francs regardless of where they are from. A masterpiece in the making. Enjoy now through 2045. Extremely limited.
