David Moreau 2023 Santenay 1er Cru, Clos Rousseau

As mentioned above, rising star winemaker David Moreau is based in Santenay and Clos Rousseau is his best vineyard. The 2023 Clos Rousseau is simply delicious.  As you would expect, the nose is tighter than his Sous Montot (above) with ultra pure fruit, a floral note and a hint of earth that should continue to emerge with time in the bottle.   The palate is perfectly balanced with fruit, acids and tannins all in harmony.  The fruit is already expressing itself while the wine’s soil notes are only starting to emerge - tantalizing. A fantastic deal for drinking over the next 15 years.
