Defined by a selection from the Wente block and picked as late as possible. The Wente clone is always defined by acidity and freshness and these own-rooted old vines are exceptional at handling any vintage adversity. The wine is a beautiful sunshine yellow with glints of green. Orchard fruit and lemon custard pie, vanilla seed, apricot, nectarine, honeycomb, ginger - the complex nose seems to offer a new layer with each whiff. No surprise the palate has power and complexity. Fantastic texture mixed generously with stone fruit, lemon-lime zest, and brûlée, all held together by a vein of acidity that drives the long finish.
