The first of two utterly distinct wines from own-rooted, old-vine Wente clone chardonnay picked at true, rich ripeness, teases with an almost opulent texture (for Oregon that is). Tyson uses a slightly more oxidative than reductive approach to the Phoebe so this wines is up front and expressive from start. Honey, ginger, lemon curd, and lemon blossom. Silky smooth with lees tinged fruit integrate with perfectly balancing acidity. Not plush, but expansive - fully filling the palate.
