This Chinon (better know for great Cabernet Franc) Blanc is produced from 100% Chenin Blanc that grows in siliceous-limestone soils and give Chinon its signature minerality and gout de terroir. If you love the mineral-driven Chenin Blancs from Savennieres, Saumur and Vouvray, you owe it to yourself to indulge in this amazing value. A pale golden color, the Gasnier Les Deux Rives offers aromas of honeycomb (the real stuff, not the cereal) oven-warm freshly-baked bread and ripe nectarine. The dry, full-bodied palate has more in common with a great Saumur than Vouvray with its big waxy texture and unique mineral expression. The aromatic themes are reprised on the palate and given forces and structure from fine acidity.
