2016 Felsina, Chianti Classico RISERVA, Tuscany $29.99
Felsina is one of my two or three favorite producers in all of Tuscany. The entire range of Felsina Chianti Classicos are always detailed, balanced, complex and structured while offering unparalleled value at their respective quality levels. With this, the much heralded 2016 vintage, Felsina's Chianti Classico Riserva has risen to new heights. “The 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva shows all the quality and pedigree of the year in its layered personality and overall nuance. Cedar, dried cherry, game licorice and tobacco convey the darker, gamier side of Sangiovese that is such a signature at Fèlsina. The 2016 finishes with terrific energy and bright acids that suggest it will enjoy a long life in the cellar, but readers should plan on giving it at least a few years in bottle.” Drink through 2036 - 92+ Antonio Galloni, Vinous

2018 Kelley Fox, Dundee Hills Pinot Noir, Maresh - Royal Ann Block $74.89
Maresh is the second oldest vineyard in the Willamette Valley (after Eyrie's original vineyard) and is high up in the Dundee Hills. Maresh is easily one of the most sought-after fruit sources in the state by Oregon's top winemakers and Pinot Noir lovers alike. Kelley's style is very non-interventionist and seeks purity, complexity, elegance and detail over raw power and bombastic fruit. So... how's the wine? It's great, of course! The beautiful nose soars from the glass and segues to the seamless medium-bodied palate. This is a supremely elegant and balanced wine while still possessing a gorgeous kernel of strawberry fruit. Maresh's soil signature is on full display for those seeking a sense of terroir in the new world Pinot Noir. Delicious now, this beauty should gain in complexity for years and prove to be very long-lived. This wine has a spellbinding, quiet intensity. The Chambolle-Musigny of the new world. Enjoy over the next 15-20 years.

2018 Kelley Fox, Dundee Hills Pinot Noir, Maresh - Star of Bethlehem Flower Block $74.89
The Star of Bethlehem Block is obviously cut from the same cloth as the Royal Ann and Red Barn blocks, but yet it is distinctly different, which is of course the point of offering different wines. The enticing nose is youthfully tight at the moment, but full of promise. The medium-full-bodied palate is stunning. This block offers slightly more density and weight with a similar level of concentration and detail as the other Maresh blocks. The balance, texture, detail, complexity and soil transparency are first rate. This wine reminds me of a fine young Chambolle - Les Amoureuses. Drink over the next 18-20 years.

2018 Kelley Fox, Dundee Hills Pinot Noir, Maresh - Red Barn Block $89.89
I get to taste a lot of blue chip Pinot Noir every year, a lot. This may be the single greatest domestic Pinot I've tasted in the last few years. This wine has all the attributes of the above two Maresh bottlings, yet is somehow even finer in indescribable ways, at least for me. I don't pony-up for $90 wines for my personal cellar very often, but I was excited to for this wine. Wine like this doesn't come along very often and this is the last vintage for this bottling. This will provide scintillating drinking over the next 20 years.

2017 Kelley Fox, Dundee Hills Pinot Noir, Hyland - Coury Clone $55.89
This is my favorite Oregon Pinot Noir of the vintage for drinking now and over the next five to ten years. I think Kelley's Maresh - Star of Bethlehem bottling will be even more compelling with extended cellaring, but for now, this is my favorite 2017 Oregon Pinot Noir. It's from a 1988 planting of own-rooted Coury clone vines and shows tremendous aromatic complexity. If it smells this good now, I can't imagine how amazing the aromatic profile will be when it reaches its window of maturity! The deftly-balanced palate combines power and concentration with elegance and finesse in a way that simply dazzles. Pinot Noir winemakers all over the world lust after this combination, yet so few ever realize it. The interplay between the beautiful red fruits (Hood strawberry and red raspberry) and earthy/mineral components are mesmerizing. The silky texture is seamless all the way through the long, penetrating finish. Enjoy over the next 15+ years.
