2018 Kelley Fox, Dundee Hills Chardonnay, Durant $39.89 / $216.00($36.00) six-pack
As many of you have discovered over the last five or so years, old vine Willamette Valley Chardonnay is every bit as compelling as is Pinot Noir. The Durant vineyard has proven to be one of the Willamette Valley's best sources for Chardonnay and in Kelley's hands, it rocks. From a 1991 planting fermented in amphora then aged in neutral French oak. This is highly aromatic and ultra-pure on the palate with excellent texture and mouthfeel supporting gorgeous Chardonnay fruit and some mineral action on the long finish. Perfect balance. While this is quite obviously not from CA or WA, it blurs the line between the Willamette Valley and White Burgundy. I guess it brings the best attributes of both appellations. Enjoy now through 2028.

2017 Kelley Fox, Pinot Noir, Hyland - Coury Clone $55.89 / $299.94($49.99) six-pack
This is my favorite Oregon Pinot Noir of the vintage for drinking now and over the next five to ten years. I think Kelley's Maresh - Star of Bethlehem bottling will be even more compelling with extended cellaring, but for now, this is my favorite 2017 Oregon Pinot Noir. It's from a 1988 planting of own-rooted Coury clone vines and shows tremendous aromatic complexity. If it smells this good now, I can't imagine how amazing the aromatic profile will be when it reaches its window of maturity! The deftly-balanced palate combines power and concentration with elegance and finesse in a way that simply dazzles. Pinot Noir winemakers all over the world lust after this combination, yet so few ever realize it. The interplay between the beautiful red fruits (Hood strawberry and red raspberry) and earthy/mineral components are mesmerizing. The silky texture is seamless all the way through the long, penetrating finish. Enjoy over the next 15+ years.

2017 Kelley Fox, Dundee Hills Pinot Noir, Maresh - Star of Bethlehem Flower Block $74.89 / $399.99($66.66) six-pack
Maresh is the second oldest vineyard in the Willamette Valley (after Eyrie's original vineyard) and is high up in the Dundee Hills. Maresh is easily one of the most sought-after fruit sources in the state by Oregon's top winemakers and Pinot Noir lovers alike. Kelley's style is very non-interventionist and seeks purity, complexity, elegance and detail over raw power and bombastic fruit. So... how's the wine? It's great, of course! The beautiful nose soars from the glass and segues to the seamless medium-bodied palate. At 12.5% alcohol, this is one of the most elegant and balanced wines of the vintage while still possessing a gorgeous kernel of fruit. Maresh's soil signature is on full display for those seeking a sense of terroir in the new world Pinot Noir. Delicious now, this beauty should gain in complexity for years and prove to be very long-lived. The Chambolle-Musigny of the new world.

2015 Colombera & Garella, Bramaterra, Cascina Cottignano, Alto Piedmont, Italy $35.89
From the tiny DOC Bramaterra, this is a blend of 80% Nebbiolo, 10% Croatina, 10% Vespolina. Weighing in at 12.5% alcohol, this wine is mid-weight and lithe compared to Barolo and Barbaresco, yet there is no lack of concentration. The nose is Barbaresco-like, but with more dimensions from the addition of the Vespolina and Croatina. The palate is very soil-driven with a strong streak of volcanic minerality piercing the wine's red fruit and savory flavors. A touch of pleasant rusticity and great complexity make for an extremely satisfying wine with so much vibrancy and energy. Enjoy now and over the next fifteen years with mushroom risotto, braised meat, game, and game birds. Rockin’! Only 291 cases made. Very limited.

2012 Perrier Jouet, Brut Champagne, Belle Epoque SALE $99.99
Sales like this one only happen once or twice a year. Here are two very different Champagnes - both delicious - that are priced well below the national average. Both are in very limited supply. First come, First served. The iconic Perrier Jouet's prestige cuvée, Belle Epoque, is a generous Champagne unveiling aromas of jasmine and honeysuckle with a rich, hedonistic palate with pear and peach notes, framed by Meyer lemon zest and enhanced with mineral tones for added complexity. Above all, this is truly luxurious Champagne! Hervé Deschamps' Belle Epoque Brut brings out the freshness and elegance of the Chardonnays (50%) from the grands crus of Cramant and Avize. From the Montagne de Reims, the Pinots Noirs (45%) display a generosity and delicate complexity that prolong the Chardonnays' finesse. Finally, the rounded charm of the Pinots Meuniers (5%) from Dizy provides the finishing touch to this beautifully balanced cuvée with great texture and mouth feel. Yum! Enjoy now and over the next decade.
